16-23. M1084/M1086 SWING DRIVE ASSEMBLY REPLACEMENT/REPAIR (CONT)
e. Installation.
(1) Install oil fill pipe (1) in swing drive assembly (2).
(2) Fill swing drive assembly (2) with oil.
(3) Remove two screws (3) and plate (4) from swing drive
assembly (2).
(4) Install swing drive lifting bracket on swing drive assembly
(2) with two screws (3).
WARNING
• Swing drive assembly weighs approximately 70
lbs (32 kgs). Attach a suitable lifting device
prior to installation. Failure to comply may
result in injury to personnel or damage to
equipment.
• Wear appropriate eye protection when working
under vehicle due to the possibility of falling
debris. Failure to comply may result in injury to
personnel.
NOTE
Swing drive gear must be meshed with rotation
gear during installation of swing drive assembly.
(5) Lift swing drive assembly (2) in mounting position.
(6) Position swing drive assembly (2) in crane assembly (5)
with nine washers (6) and screws (7).
(7) Tighten screws (7) to 90-110 lb-ft (122-149 N m).
