16-27. M1084/M1086 THREE WAY CONTROL VALVE ASSEMBLY
REPLACEMENT/REPAIR (CONT)
(14) Remove rack support bolt (24) and seal washer (25)
from lever cap (23). Discard seal washer.
(15) Match mark pinion seal (15) to lever cap (23).
(16) Remove carrier nut (26) from lever cap (23).
(17) Remove pinion seal (15) from lever cap (23).
(18) Remove two backup rings (27) and quad rings (28) from
pinion seal (15). Discard backup rings and quad rings.
(19) Match mark lever cap (23) to valve body (8).
(20) Remove four screws (29), lever cap (23), and preformed
packing (30) from valve body (8). Discard preformed
packing.
(21) Match mark end cap (31) to valve body (8).
(22) Remove four screws (32), end cap (31), and preformed
packing (33) from valve body (8).
Discard preformed
packing.
(23) Remove spool (34) from valve body (8).
(24) Perform steps (7) through (23) on remaining valve
bodies.
