16-59. M1089 EIGHT-BANK VALVE ASSEMBLY REPLACEMENT/REPAIR (CONT)

when using; avoid contact with eyes.
If
sealant contacts eyes, flush eyes with water
and get immediate medical attention. Failure
to comply may result in injury to personnel.
(54) Apply sealing compound to threads of four screws (77).
(55) Install preformed packing (78), lever cap (79), and four
screws (77) on top directional valve body (73) with
matchmarks aligned.
(56) Install two backup rings (80) and quad rings (81) on
pinion seal (82).
(57) Install pinion seal (82) in lever cap (79) with matchmarks
aligned.
(58) Install preformed packing (83) on carrier nut (84).
(59) Install carrier nut (84) on lever cap (79).
(60) Install washer (85) and bolt (86) on lever cap (79).
