(17) Apply sealing compound to threads of four screws (12).
(18) Position telescopic cylinder (4) in boom base section (8)
with four washers (13), and screws (12).
(19) Tighten screws (12) to 151-175 lb-ft (205-237 N·m).
(20) Connect hoses (14 and 15) to telescopic cylinder (4).
d. Adjustment.
(1) Connect batteries (TM 9-2320-366-20-3).
NOTE
Steps (2) and (3) require the aid of an
assistant.
(2) Operate MHC to extend and retract boom mid section (1)
(TM 9-2320-366-10-2).
(3) Hold machinists rule at outer end of boom base section
(2); obtain reading to determine high spot of boom mid
section (1).
(4) Operate MHC to place high spot of boom mid section
directly under setscrew (3).
(5) Adjust setscrew (3) for 0.06 in. (0.15 cm) maximum
clearance.
(6) Tighten jam nut (4) on setscrew (3).
d. Follow-On Maintenance.
(1) Install boom fly section (para 16-34).
(2) Place hydraulic reservoir supply valve and return valve
in open position (TM 9-2320-366-10-2).
(3) Perform crane load test (para 16-62).
