16-84. M1089 LOWER CONTROL VALVE ASSEMBLY REPLACEMENT/REPAIR (CONT)
WARNING
• Adhesives, solvents, and sealing compounds can burn easily, can give off harmful vapors, and
are harmful to skin and clothing. Keep away from open fire and use in a well-ventilated area.
If adhesive, solvent, or sealing compound gets on skin or clothing, wash immediately with soap
and water. Failure to comply may result in injury to personnel.
• Use care when installing springs. Springs are under tension and can act as projectiles when
being installed. Failure to comply can cause injury to personnel.
CAUTION
• Lube two spring retainers, tube stop, and
spring with grease prior to installation.
Failure to comply may result in damage to
equipment.
• Linear valve must be positioned in a vise
equipped with vise jaw caps when installing
stripper bolt. Failure to comply may result in
damage to equipment.
(38) Apply sealing compound to threads of stripper bolt (47).
(39) Place linear valve (48) in vise.
(40) Install two spring retainers (49), tube stop (50), and
spring (51) on linear valve (48) with stripper bolt (47).
