16-2. M1084/M1086 MATERIAL HANDLING CRANE (MHC) REPLACEMENT (CONT)
NOTE
Step (7) requires the aid of two assistants.
(7) Remove crane (10) from vehicle.
(8) Install outrigger pads (16) on jack cylinders (17).
(9) Position MHC (10) on trestles.
b. Installation.
WARNING
• Material Handling Crane (MHC) assembly
weighs approximately 3030 lbs (1375 kgs).
Attach suitable lifting device prior to
installation. Failure to comply may result in
serious injury or death to personnel or
damage to equipment.
• Personnel must stand clear during lifting
operations. Failure to comply may result in
serious injury or death to personnel.
• A guide rope must be attached to aid in
controlling Material Handling Crane (MHC)
during installation. Failure to comply may
result in serious injury or death to personnel.
(1) Remove outrigger pads (1) from jack cylinders (2).

Step (2) requires the aid of two assistants.
(2) Position MHC (3) on vehicle.
